You can mark where you find gold to give you some insight into how it moves. Alluvial gold usually moves in a straight line.

So once you find some you can see where to find some more.

While the app is running a service logs your location
in the background. This is stored on your phone.
It is not shared or uploaded at any time.

You should not rely on Google Maps to navigate. It is recommended to create offline maps in Google for where you are prospecting.
