Met deze app verandert je ziekenhuiskamer in een mooie onderwaterwereld. Kijk rond en blijf kijken naar de belletjes voor telkens weer een nieuwe ontdekking.

Deze ontspannende app werd ontwikkeld voor het project VR in het ziekenhuis een samenwerking tussen JEF en VRT Sandbox ondersteund door de Vlaamse overheid in het kader van innovatieve partnerprojecten en ontwikkeld door Hunsk en Soulmade.

JEF brengt al enkele jaren festivalfilms naar de ziekenhuizen via het project JEF in het ziekenhuis. Dit groeide uit tot een platform waarop kinderen en jongeren het hele jaar rond festivalfilms kunnen bekijken. Maar het JEF festival is meer dan enkel films kijken in de krokusvakantie. Elk jaar kunnen bezoekers zich ook verwonderen in het medialab of deelnemen aan workshops en masterclasses. Virtual reality biedt de mogelijkheid om ook dit onderdeel van het festival tot in ziekenhuizen of bij kinderen thuis te brengen.

Voor de invulling van de app VR Wonderwater gingen we langs bij kinderen in ziekenhuizen en revalidatiecentra. Ze deelden hun fantasie en tekenden figuren die de animatoren vertaalden naar 3D animaties. Het resultaat kan je bewonderen in deze app en met een (cardboard) VR-bril.

This relaxing app was developed for the VR in the hospital project a collaboration between JEF and VRT Sandbox supported by the Flemish government in the context of innovative partner projects and developed by Hunsk and Soulmade.

JEF has been bringing festival films to the hospitals for several years through the JEF project in the hospital. This grew into a platform on which children and young people can watch festival films all year round. But the JEF festival is more than just watching movies during the crocus holiday. Every year visitors can also marvel at the media lab or participate in workshops and master classes. Virtual reality offers the possibility to bring this part of the festival to hospitals or to the children's home.

For the interpretation of the VR Wonderwater app we visited children in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. They shared their imagination and drew figures that the animators translated into 3D animations. You can admire the result in this app and with (cardboard) VR glasses.
